Whether it’s bridges made from recycled milk jugs, algaculture and biodiesel, or clean tech, it’s hard not to get excited about renewable energy and energy independence.
Avenue performed market research for Zeta Communities, the producer of the Bay Area’s first Net-Zero home. Their Oakland townhome was a prototype for Zeta’s successful new 22-unit development and helps push us beyond “simple” energy efficiency into true energy independence.
Net zero homes simply produce all of the energy they need for their own functions, bringing energy independence out of conceptual discourse and into the practical everyday. When you’re not buying electricity from the grid, it almost makes keeping the lights on all night OK.
